The Dan Region Association consists of 6 member munucipalities: Tel Aviv-Yaffo, Holon, Ramat Gan, Bnei-Brak, Givatayim and Bat-Yam.
The Association provides waste management services to 24 other local authorities
The municipalities sending their waste to the Hiriya site are home to about 1,500,000 residents.
3,000 tons of municipal waste (whose source is the households and businesses within the city limits) arrive at the Hiriya site every day
Each day some 1000 trucks
enter
the Hiriya site
500 tons of renewable energy sourced from the garbage is delivered to the cement industry on a daily basis
100 biogas-wells drilled into the depths of the old landfill produce a non-polluting renewable energy source for a nearby textile factory
About 120,000 visitors arrive at the environmental education center every year to see for themselves and learn about the work being done at the site
