"ArrowBio" - This is how waste is separated

The "Arrow-Bio" facility was built in 2003 as an experimental facility within the area of the transכקר station, and was the first sorting facility at the Hiriya Recycling Park, intended for the treatment of mixed waste. In the facility, the waste was sorted into its various components. The separated organic waste was transferred to an aerobic digestion process in the on-site digestors, which eventually produced biogas and sludge.

During the years 2015-2016, the facility underwent an upgrade which allowed it to handle approximately 400 tons of waste per day.

In 2020, in order to enable the upgrade and roofing project of the transit station, the facility was dismantled. In the coming years, with the construction of a new mechanical sorting system at the new transfer station, the Dan Regon Association will make the decision regarding the next technologies for sorting and handling sorted waste and residual waste.
