At the center, we see educational personnel as partners and ambassadors for advancing the values of environmental social responsibility, and as leaders of environmental education in Israel. We are aware of your ability to influence. During your continuing education, we will examine our lifestyle from different perspectives while further studying the waste problems and discussing practical ways of incorporating sustainable lifestyle options into our daily lives.

Kindergarten Teachers for Environmental Education – Basic Continuing Education

This continuing education program lasts 60 hours and is designed for kindergarten teachers who want to start the process of certification for a green kindergarten. The course offers an introduction to the environmental subject with an emphasis on waste, exploration of an educational model of the center, and the provision of tools for a practical connection of the waste subject with the children and the life of the kindergarten while deepening personal development and changing the environmental positions of the participants. During the course, each kindergarten teacher will advance educational and environmental projects in the kindergarten or in the community. The course includes theoretical meetings on environmental subjects (waste, species, varieties, ecological economy, etc.) practical workshops (sustainable design, compost, and ecological gardening), and three tours.

Kindergarten Teachers – Leading Change, Advanced Course

A 30-hour course for kindergarten teachers of green kindergartens who are interesting in beginning a process of "evergreen kindergarten" certification. The purpose of the course is to build a group of leading green kindergarten teachers who will work at promoting awareness of environmental responsibility through projects in the kindergarten and community. The course will include tours and meetings – theoretical and practical – to deepen and widen the knowledge in the field of ecology, with emphasis on waste, the consumption culture, education for intelligent consumption, the waste problem in Israel and the world, decreasing waste, sustainable design, the art of reuse, values, and sustainable education positions.

Green Teachers – Educational Teachers' Room

A 2.5 hour tour for teaching staff who aspire to infuse the school with green values. The tour is carried out after study hours, or during school vacations. During the tour, we will expose the staff to waste problems, their solutions, precise concepts and terms in the field of waste, and the educational methods the Center promotes. The teams will receive tools for presenting the waste problems to their students in a way that will create partnership and advance acknowledgement of personal and school-wide responsibility. We will climb to the peak of the mountain at the Hiriya recycling park, and visit the transfer station and the Center. There is an option for a practical course and lectures that entails a fee, on designing a study environment from reused materials, building a sorting station at school, a compost workshop, and more.
