Planned Factories

The World's Largest Recycling Center

A sorting, separating, and manufacturing factory – RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel) – will be constructed at the Hiriya site, and will be the biggest of its kind in the world.

RDF is solid "green" fuel generated from waste, and is used as a burning material in the process of creating cement. The factory will be constructed by the Dan Municipal Sanitation Association in cooperation with Nesher cement factories, and will process approximately 1,500 tons of household waste per day – half the amount of waste received by Hiriya. From this amount, 500 tons of RDF can be produced per day. In order to reach the maximum recycling level, the mixed waste will be separated using advanced modern separation technology: garden trimmings, and dry industrial waste (plastic, cardboard, paper, textiles, wood, etc.). Garden trimmings will be used for compost, and the dry materials will be moved to recycling factories as well as to create the RDF.

Tire Recycling Factory
In this process, tires are shredded and separated into their base components: rubber, metals, and cotton, from which we can produce a large variety of products – boots, shoe soles, children's play surfaces, and more.
