Dumping Sites

A large part of the household waste that reaches Hiriya is sent to sanitary dumping sites in the south of Israel: Ganei Hadas and Efeh. These sites are licensed by the Ministry for Environmental Protection, and are equipped with suitable infrastructure: piping to collect leachate and biogas, and plastic sheeting to prevent seepage of fluids that would contaminate groundwater.
